Overview

Inside The Book

As the first chapter of my story comes to a close, I cannot help but reflect on the lessons I learned from my parents during those formative years. Little did I know that the experiences and values I absorbed in Cameroon would become the building blocks of my journey ahead—a journey filled with challenges, choices, and the pursuit of success.

Life is an incredible journey, filled with unexpected twists and turns, and as I continued my path from nursing to the financial industry, I stumbled upon an entirely new world. This world unlocked my entrepreneurial spirit. This chapter is about my journey into the realms of financial literacy and entrepreneurship, the encouragement to write and share my experiences, and the importance of bringing my ideas to life.

The essence of "Win by Choice, Not Chance" reverberated in my client interactions. I observed firsthand the impact of informed choices on their financial journeys. Whether saving for retirement, investing in education, or protecting their loved ones through insurance, each choice was a step toward achieving their goals.

Chapter 8 is the book's culmination, offering readers a comprehensive understanding of the winning formula. It provides strategies, principles, and practical insights for achieving success, setting, and pursuing meaningful goals, and embracing resilience and perseverance as essential components of the journey.

In Win By Choice, Not Chance, You Will Learn

In our home, there was always a strong emphasis on education. My father, being a teacher, believed in the power of knowledge and the doors it could open. He encouraged us to excel in our studies, to be curious, and never to stop learning. He instilled in us the importance of hard work and determination.

As I stood on the threshold of adolescence, the path ahead of me led to an important milestone: secondary school. This transition marked a significant step toward my education and personal growth. However, it was also the beginning of a journey marked by academic challenges and profound personal loss.

My arrival in America was a blend of excitement and trepidation. I was greeted by a foreign land, unfamiliar faces, and a language that, despite my efforts in Yaoundé, still felt like a formidable barrier. The United States was vast, diverse, and brimming with opportunities, but it also presented its challenges.

As I honed my nursing skills and gained experience, I met situations that tested my ethical compass. It was during these moments that the essence of my beliefs shone the brightest. I was faced with decisions that required me to advocate for my patients, even when it meant challenging the status quo.
In healthcare, as in life, external pressures and expectations often vie for our choices. However, I stayed steadfast in my commitment to prioritize the well-being of my patients—a choice rooted in empathy, compassion, and a deep sense of responsibility.

One such opportunity presented itself as I delved deeper into my nursing career. The healthcare landscape in America was vast and diverse, offering a multitude of specialities to explore. I found myself drawn to the field of mental health nursing, a realm where compassion and understanding held paramount importance.

One of the fundamental principles of entrepreneurship is the power of action. Ideas, no matter how brilliant, remain dormant until we breathe life into them through action. This chapter underscores the significance of moving beyond the realm of ideas and taking concrete steps to transform dreams into reality. It is about making choices that propel us forward, as I discovered on my journey from nursing to entrepreneurship.

Financial literacy, I soon realized, was not a luxury but a fundamental necessity. It was the key to unlocking a world of opportunities, enabling individuals to secure their financial well-being and pursue their dreams. The essence of choice took on new significance in this context, as each financial decision had far-reaching consequences.

The Role of Resilience and Perseverance in Winning: The journey towards victory is rife with challenges and setbacks, making resilience and perseverance indispensable attributes. This final chapter delves into the role these qualities play in pursuing success. It offers insights into cultivating resilience and the choices that enable individuals to persevere in adversity.

Each lesson has the potential to empower you to make choices that resonate with purpose, intention, and vision. So, join me as we explore the seven key lessons illuminating the path to wining —a path defined by choice, resilience, passion, and the unwavering belief that you have the agency to shape your destiny.
